The peak season for sweet potatoes is from November to April. The soft, sandy soil along the Choshui River, along with the mild weather and plenty of water, creates the perfect environment for them to grow. This area produces the famous Tainong No. 73 purple sweet potato and Tainong No. 57 golden sweet potato, earning the river valley the nickname "the hometown of sweet potatoes."
Sweet potatoes are rich in carotene and fiber, making them very healthy. There are many ways to cook them—whether they are fried, roasted, boiled, or deep-fried, they always smell sweet and taste soft. They have been a favorite natural food for people since ancient times.

Today, sweet potatoes are no longer just a basic food; they have become the "soul" of creative desserts. Whether it’s roasted sweet potatoes, cakes, chips, or the famous sweet potato balls, they all carry the warm and simple memories of Taiwanese people.
